Description:
Have you had a student give you the look and attitude of "I dare you to teach me?" Do you struggle to get every student reading and writing more?  If so, join secondary literacy expert, Cris Tovani, and her instructional coach, Sam Bennett, for two days of workshops that will focus on reading, writing and thinking strategies.  Cris and Sam will lead teachers through literacy experiences where they will discover text, planning structures and instructional strategies that will engage students behaviourally, emotionally and cognitively.  In addition to learning from Cris and Sam, participants will have time to work on unit plans while Cris and Sam confer with groups and individuals.  By the end of the two days, participants will have a fleshed out unit and new ways to engage their most recalcitrant students.  We hope you can join us. 

Target Audience:
This institute is geared towards educators of grades 5-12.  However, anyone can register.

All registration fees included catered morning coffee break and lunch on each day.
